Technologically Driven, not Technologically Dependent

“Technology is nothing. What's important is that you have a faith in people, that they're basically good and smart, and if you give them tools, they'll do wonderful things with them. It's not the tools that you have faith in — tools are just tools. They work, or they don't work. It's people you have faith in or not,” – Steve Jobs, 1994 interview with Rolling Stone Magazine.

It seems contradictory for Steve Jobs to make the statement “technology is nothing,” since he revolutionized our lifestyles with the iPod, iPad, and iPhone.  In fact, our employees use one of Steve Jobs’ tools, the iPod, to streamline a multitude of processes, from receiving your product to the fulfillment stage.

At the receiving level, our warehouse staff scans the barcodes of your pallet or case as they are unloaded from the truck. Once received, the inventory team counts the items and prepares them to be placed in a pick bin. The iPod is also utilized extensively in the pick and pack portion of the fulfillment process. Employees can also scan in inventory, conduct spot counts, cycle counts, clock in, clock out, and even FaceTime co-workers in different departments or warehouses.

The information scanned in the iPod is recorded into  our warehouse management system. With over a decade of development by the IT team, P3PL is a hub where both the ProPack employee and our clients can:

·         View receiving status

·         Receipting

·         Inventory management

·         Order status updates

·         Online order entry

·         …and more

ProPack’s technologically driven atmosphere gives our employees and clients real-time visibility of the product moving in and out of warehouses.

Not only do we witness our employees doing wonderful things with our technology, we also see them continuously develop these technologies to better serve our clients.
